SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Mario Golf: Super Rush’ Update, ‘Drizzlepath: Deja Vu’ and Today’s Other Releases and Sales

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for November 24th, 2021. In today’s article, we’ve got a few news bits to dig into about a trio of great updates. We’ve also got summaries of the new releases for today, such as they are. We finish things up with the usual lists of new sales and expiring deals. Still waiting for the penny to drop on those Black Friday sales, and I fear they aren’t far now. In the meantime, it’s all eerily quiet. Let’s go!

News

‘Disney Classic Games Collection’ Adds New Titles Today

The game formerly known as Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King has added a few more titles to the collection with the new DLC that hit today. The existing roster of games included Aladdin for the Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color, and The Lion King for Super NES, Genesis, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color, plus all kinds of interesting museum content to sift through. The newly-dubbed Disney Classic Games Collection keeps all of that and adds in Capcom’s Super NES Aladdin game, plus both the Super NES and Genesis versions of Virgin’s game based on The Jungle Book. Both games bring some new museum content with them, though not as thorough as what we saw for the previous games. Those who own the original set can upgrade for $9.99, while those buying in new can grab the whole shebang for $29.49.

‘Mario Golf: Super Rush’ Gets Its Final Free Content Update

While I enjoyed Mario Golf: Super Rush well enough, the game launched in a somewhat thinner state than some might have hoped. That has been somewhat alleviated through post-launch updates, but today’s new update will officially bring the free content updates to a close. Nintendo is quick to stress “free", which suggests there may be paid content in the future, perhaps in the form of new courses. As for this update? It adds two new characters, Wiggler and Shy Guy, two new courses, and two new modes. This new version also makes some balance adjustments and other tweaks, and I assume that sort of thing will continue to delivered here and there in the future.

‘Dead Cells’ Shows Upcoming ‘Everyone is Here’ Update

Cross-overs and collaborations, friends. The industry is full of them these days, and Dead Cells is getting in on some of that sweet team-up action. The next update is titled Everyone is Here, and it brings in some pals from other indie games. Characters from Hollow Knight, Blasphemous, Curse of the Dead Gods, Guacamelee!, Hyper Light Drifter, and Skul: The Hero Slayer will be joining the game in some form or another. New weapons, new outfits, and more can be found through careful exploration of Prisoners’ Quarters. This game just keeps on giving.

New Releases

Drizzlepath: Deja Vu ($6.99)

You’re going up a mountain seeking answers. To what questions? Not sure. That might be part of the exercise. This game calls itself a “relaxing walking simulator", so you’ll really just be poking around and exploring as things happen, opening new ways forward. The price is quite reasonable and it certainly looks pretty enough for what it is. If you fancy a slightly surreal walk up a mountain while a narrator throws platitudes at you, perhaps this will appeal to you.

Poker Club ($21.99)

Lots of poker games on the Switch, so what does this one have to offer besides a relatively high price? Well, its presentation is clearly a step up. It also offers extensive online multiplayer options, multiple variations on Texas Hold’em, and… oh, it also has in-game purchases. In for a penny, in for a pound, I suppose. Not my scene, but it might be yours.

Sales

(North American eShop, US Prices)

The longer we wait for those big deals, the more anxious I get. I feel somewhat confident they’re coming tonight, and may be in effect as you read this. If that’s the case, we’ll have our hands full tomorrow. For now, there isn’t too much to get fussed about in the new sales. Maybe Demon’s Tilt if you like video pinball and don’t have it already? The biggest thing in the outbox is the half-price sale on Touhou Spell Bubble. It’s a very good puzzle game that just got a rather large update, and it usually costs quite a bit. It’s hard to say if and when we’ll see a discount this deep again on it, so if you have some interest in it, now is the time to act.
